Apple is reportedly preparing its first smart glasses for a WWDC 2027 unveiling, with consumer availability expected later that year. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the company has delayed the product to refine privacy protections and evaluate different camera designs. Apple is said to be developing new hardware and software safeguards, favouring on-device AI processing while avoiding features such as facial recognition. The glasses are expected to offer AI assistance, audio playback, phone calls and Siri support as part of Apple's broader 2027 hardware lineup.
